What is the Information and Support Services Pathway?
The Information and Support Services pathway prepares students to test and evaluate computer network systems, set up or repair computer equipment and related devices, and help customers solve computer-related problems. This Career Connect pathway can lead to a variety of related-career specialties within the Information Technology field.
What Career Opportunities are Available?
Career opportunities for those with knowledge gained through the Information and Support Services pathway include Computer Technician, Systems Support Specialist, Computer Engineer, and Network Administrator.
Working remotely on a full-time or part-time basis is possible.
What Courses Will I Take?
This Keystone Career Connect Pathway requires the student to complete the following group of courses:
- A+ Computer Management 1
- A+ Computer Management 2
- Network+ Guide To Networks 1
- Network+ Guide To Networks 2
- Security+ 1
- Security+ 2
Upon completion of the pathway, students will be prepared to take the exam for industry-recognized credentials through the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute Information Support and Services Exam. The cost of this exam is included with tuition for the Information and Support Services pathway. The exam will be taken using an online proctoring platform.
This pathway also prepares students to take the CompTIA Certifications, which they may take at their own expense.

2016 Median Pay: $52,160 per year, $25.08 per hour

Job growth: Employment of computer support specialists is projected to grow 11% from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. More support services will be needed as organizations upgrade their computer equipment and software.
