"For the first several years of my life, I was never interested in writing beyond what was required of me – my interest was in reading. At the school I attended before Keystone, I only ever had my nose in a book, even during class after I finished the work given to me. In quarantine, my motivation for pursuing books spiraled into practically nothing as I struggled with turning in assignments and keeping my grades high. My grapple with mental health led to a decision between me and my mother to change programs, enrolling me into Keystone."
"I chose keystone because in 7th grade, I had to have emergency brain surgery. This surgery led me to skip my whole 7th grade year. I really needed a school that could fit with my therapy and doctor’s appointments, and keystone was able to help me with that. To me it means a lot. I’m not sure if I would be able to get where I am today if we didn’t have school choice."
“I have been in public school up until 8th grade. I decided that I was tired of how the other students treated me and ran over me. I went into the homeschooling program through my school. I struggled a ton doing that and I had to drive there and do my schooling there with other students. The whole reason why I wanted to be homeschooled is to get away from the ran down school I went to. I searched for hours until I came across Keystone. Keystone has given me opportunities that no other school has. The teachers care and respond very quickly. If you mess up, Keystone allows you to try again and do a better job. They want to see every student in here succeed and have a great life.”
