Develop Critical Thinkers and Future Leaders.

In this rigorous, college-level course, students explore the inner workings of the United States government and the behavior of voters, political leaders, and institutions. AP® U.S. Government and Politics offers students a deep understanding of how political systems operate and how decisions are made, while building the critical thinking skills necessary for thoughtful analysis of political data, concepts, and real-world events.

Students will learn to gather and interpret political information, form their own evidence-based conclusions, and examine the complex relationships between government, society, and the economy. Throughout the course, they will develop strong skills in research, analysis, and theoretical evaluation—essential tools for success in political science, law, education, business, and history.

Designed to mirror an introductory college-level course, AP® U.S. Government and Politics prepares students for success on the AP Exam and empowers them to become informed, engaged citizens in a rapidly changing world.
