AP U.S. History offers motivated students the opportunity to explore the economic, political, and cultural development of the United States through a rigorous, college-level curriculum. Students engage in historical investigation using primary sources, research, and analytical writing, building the critical-thinking skills needed for college and careers in fields like history, political science, economics, sociology, and law.

This course emphasizes making meaningful connections across U.S. History—linking people, events, and ideas to broader historical trends. Students learn to interpret sources, build strong, evidence-based arguments, and communicate their thinking clearly through essays, journals, and visual presentations. Written discussion activities support complete and concise explanation of academic dialogue as students analyze and respond to different historical perspectives.

With a structured approach that includes targeted feedback, engaging assignments, and robust support, students are well-prepared to succeed on the AP Exam and beyond.
