Exploring the Roots of America: A Journey Through Early U.S. History
In our Online 5th Grade Early American History Course, students take an exciting and interactive journey through the beginnings of the United States—discovering the people, places, and ideas that shaped our nation before 1800.
This full-year course blends history, geography, civics, and economics to help students understand how physical landscapes and cultural influences played a role in the development of America. Through engaging lessons, students explore Indigenous cultures, the age of European exploration, early colonial life, the American Revolution, and the founding of our government under the Constitution.
Students build important skills as they read and analyze maps, create and interpret charts, engage in debate, write persuasive essays, and think critically about historical events and their impact. They also gain a deeper understanding of American citizenship and how our democratic government works, all while learning how to examine sources, ask questions, and explore different perspectives.
Whether your child is new to history or already fascinated by the past, this course will spark curiosity, strengthen thinking and writing skills, and lay a strong foundation for future learning.
