Spanning from the colonial era to modern-day works, students will read and analyze classic and contemporary texts—including poetry, novels, short stories, drama, and nonfiction—that have shaped the American experience.
Through a blend of critical writing, interactive online discussions, and creative projects, students will sharpen their analytical thinking and deepen their appreciation for literary themes and cultural context. The course also reinforces essential vocabulary and grammar skills, ensuring your student is well-prepared for standardized tests and future academic success.

Students will procure select reading items, see the course materials for details. With flexible online learning and guidance from experienced educators, students gain both academic excellence and confidence in their literary voice.
Prerequisites: English 10 (or equivalent)
Course Eligibility Recommendation: Students in all high school grade levels can take honors courses if they have earned a grade of 90% or higher in their prior year course in that academic category (ex. 92% in English 8 can take English 9 Honors).
When enrolling in the full year option of this course it will be delivered in two semesters. Transcripts will reflect each semester separately.
