Health Science Online
This course will cover the structure of the human body systems and their functions. It will also cover diseases and medical procedures related to each body system.
In semester 1 students will:
- Interpret basic word parts of medical terms as well as abbreviations, acronyms, symbols, and directional terminology used in health care.
- Examine the structures, parts, and functions of the human body and each of its systems.
- Examine various health science professions and specializations related to each body system.
- Analyze diseases and disorders, including causes, treatments, and procedures, related to various body systems.
- Measure the effects of carbohydrates, lipids, supplements, and various nutrients on the human body.
In semester 2 students will:
- Examine the structures, parts, and functions of the human body and each of its systems.
- Analyze diseases and disorders, including causes, treatments, and procedures, related to various body systems.
- Measure the effects of carbohydrates, lipids, supplements, and various nutrients on the human body.
- Inspect the various biological and chemical processes throughout the human body.
- Analyze the evolution of DNA, RNA, and genetics research in the health sciences.
