Organized chronologically and regionally, the course offers a deep dive into the major developments in religion, philosophy, the arts, science, technology, and political history across diverse cultures.
Students don’t just memorize facts—they engage with history through critical analysis of primary sources, interactive map studies, detailed timelines, and creative projects. Along the way, they develop advanced skills in historical thinking, writing, and independent research. Geography concepts are woven seamlessly into the curriculum, helping students understand how physical landscapes influenced historical events.
Paired with World History: Our Human Story, a K¹²-published textbook, and supported by dynamic online lessons and assessments, this course challenges students to think broadly, connect ideas across time and place, and complete an independent honors project each semester.

Course Eligibility Recommendation: Students in all high school grade levels can take honors courses if they have earned a grade of 90% or higher in their prior year course in that academic category (ex. 92% in English 8 can take English 9 Honors).
When enrolling in the full year option of this course it will be delivered in two semesters. Transcripts will reflect each semester separately.
