Keystone Alum Tamia Bradham Discovers a Better Way to Learn
For Tamia Bradham, finding the right learning environment changed the way she experienced school. 💻✨ Keystone gave Tamia the flexibility to work at her own pace, balance her first full-time job, and discover a learning style that worked for her. Since graduating in 2021, she has studied political science and built a career in office administration. Her story is a reminder that there isn’t just one path to finding the future that fits you.
For Tamia Bradham, online education created something she had not experienced before: the ability to enjoy school.
Tamia enrolled in The Keystone School after the COVID-19 pandemic changed how her family approached education. Her mother wanted her to continue learning online, and the flexibility also allowed Tamia to begin working her first full-time job.
She quickly discovered that learning on her own schedule reduced the stress she had experienced in a traditional classroom.
“I loved the concept of being able to do work on my time,” Tamia shared. “It caused me less stress, which made it easier for me to relax and get into a good headspace to accurately complete assignments.”
Growing up, Tamia struggled with attention challenges and anxiety. Together, those difficulties made attending class and completing schoolwork feel overwhelming.
At Keystone, she no longer felt pressured to learn in exactly the same way as everyone around her.
“During my time at Keystone, I felt no pressure to be like everyone else,” she explained. “My brain was allowed to operate the way it knows how, and I was able to graduate successfully.”
The flexible environment gave Tamia space to understand how she learned best. It also allowed her to balance school with the responsibilities and real-world experience of her first job.
After graduating from Keystone in 2021, Tamia continued her education in college and studied political science.
She initially attended The College of New Jersey but later realized the campus environment was not the right fit. She transferred to Rowan University and continued exploring her interest in law.
Although law remains an area she finds interesting, Tamia’s professional journey eventually led her in a different direction.
She now works in office administration and has discovered that she genuinely enjoys the field.
Her experience shows that career paths do not always unfold in a perfectly straight line. Students may begin with one goal, explore different opportunities, and ultimately find fulfilling work in a place they did not originally expect.
In the years ahead, Tamia hopes to continue building a career she enjoys. She also looks forward to eventually settling down and beginning a family.
When she reflects on high school, she wishes she had made a greater effort to connect with classmates and become involved in the Keystone community.
Her advice to current students is to embrace the experience instead of focusing only on completing assignments.
“Enjoy your high school experience and make the most of it,” she shared. “Take advantage of any resources provided to you.”
Tamia’s journey is a reminder that students do not have to force themselves into one learning model. Sometimes, finding the right environment allows confidence, focus, and enjoyment to finally take root.
