Elementary School Curriculum
Engaging Learning for Young Minds
The early years of education are designed for young children to explore, discover, and learn new things. Elementary school curriculum at Keystone is designed to spark an early love of learning and help students explore new concepts. The Keystone Elementary School Program was developed with diverse learners and individual learning styles in mind.
Online elementary school curriculum powered by Stride K12 can be used for many family and learning situations. Students can enroll in the Keystone Elementary School Program and experience a complete elementary school education in a flexible setting that meets the needs of families. Elementary school curriculum can also be used to supplement a student's traditional or homeschool education.
Courses to Inspire Students in Grades K–5
Elementary school students enrolled in the Keystone Elementary School Program or using individual courses will build a solid foundation in core subject areas. The Keystone Elementary School Program and curriculum has been developed to motivate students to acquire the skills they will need to succeed in middle school, high school and beyond.
Language Arts: Spark an early love of reading and build a strong foundation in writing. As students progress, they'll develop critical reading and writing skills in addition to grammar, spelling, vocabulary and listening skills.
Math: Fundamental skills are built in early grades, while older students combine those skills with critical thinking and problem-solving.
Science: Encouraging exploration and curiosity across earth, life, and physical sciences. Students begin to understand the world around them through interactive lessons and hands-on learning.
Social Studies: Introduce geography, history and diverse cultures early. As students progress, they'll begin to explore economics and civics through historical events and perspectives in American history.
Art: Students will create their own works of art, exploring color and shapes, while also learning about the elements of art by studying paintings, sculptures and architecture in later grades.
Music: Interactive learning through song, dance, and virtual instruments helps students explore music and build foundational skills.

Every course is flexibly paced, allowing students to move independently at the speed that best suits their needs along with their required Learning Coach, a parent or guardian who is fluent in English. Those who are ready to move on to the next lesson or unit can do so, while those who need just a little more time may take it.
The Keystone Elementary School Program engages students across multiple courses and subjects. Students enrolled full-time take a total of five courses each school year: one each in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, and a grade level-specific elective course to fulfill the elective option.
