High School Curriculum

A Flexible, High-Quality Education for High School Students

Keystone's engaging high school curriculum helps high school students master lesson objectives, address any learning gaps, explore their interests and follow the path through post graduation success. The Keystone High School Program is fully accredited, so your student's diploma will be recognized by universities and employers. Students can enroll in the Keystone High School Program and experience a complete high school education. Individual courses can be taken to supplement a student's traditional or homeschool education, challenge your student or address a knowledge gap.

Online high school curriculum powered by Stride K12 is based on a learner-centered model  for students in Grades 9—12 and can take them anywhere they want to go. Keystone high school curriculum is offered with both online course options and print-based course options.* High school curriculum offered by Keystone was developed with diverse learners and individual learning styles in mind and provides the flexibility families are looking for.

A Personalized Experience for High School Students

If you're exploring a school or curriculum that will support your student's goals for high school and beyond, consider the benefits of the high school curriculum developed by K12 powered by Stride. The Keystone high school curriculum provides engaging, interactive instruction for students enrolled in the Keystone High School Program, or students using individual courses.

Online high school curriculum is taught through the Brightspace Learning Management system to give students access to assignments, online materials, and communication from instructors. Parents are able to monitor student grades and completion through the Keystone parent support application.

Print High School courses are taught through printed lessons, instructions, assignments, and communication from course teachers.  Print course materials are sent to the student through the postal service. Print course submissions are uploaded to the teacher through the student application.

Core Online High School Curriculum: Learning through interactive, multimedia-rich curriculum, your student will work at his or her own pace with access to teacher support to ensure a rewarding high school experience. Our online high school curriculum includes online lessons that feature the latest in multimedia learning including virtual labs, interactive graphics, animated tutorials, and online activities that reinforce concepts and help keep learning interesting.

Core online high school curriculum consists of a total of five year-long courses: language arts, math, science, and social studies in addition to one elective per year. High school placement exams can help you understand which level math or language arts would be the best fit for your student.

Explore specific high school curriculum developed by Keystone at each grade level.

Electives: As part of our school's dedication to student academic success, we offer a selection of elective subjects. These online and print-based offerings allow students to learn in areas of interest outside the core courses. Students can explore topics including digital media, forensic science, fashion, and interior design to name a few.

Advanced Courses: High school students looking for a challenge can get the extra edge they need by taking Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses, which will prepare them to take the AP exams administered by the College Board. Many colleges offer college credit to students for taking these courses. This credit varies by school and is usually dependent on the score received on the AP exam.

Dual Enrollment Courses: At Keystone, high school students have access to our dual enrollment program. This unique registration option gives students the opportunity to take their pick from over 300 accredited college courses from a variety of colleges and universities alongside their regular classes.

These dual enrollment online college courses earn credits* that apply toward high school graduation and may give your student credits upon entering college as well. When these transfer credits are accepted, they can help offset the initial cost of college or the initial course load, potentially speeding the process of fulfilling requirements and graduating.

Credit Recovery Courses: A student who previously attempted but was unable to pass a high school course in a core subject is eligible to recover those lost credits and get back on track through Keystone's Credit Recovery high school curriculum.

Prior to enrolling, students should first request approval from their school counselor, principal, or other authorized school official at their school of record. When you have successfully completed the course, Keystone will notify your school, which may then choose to award credit for the course at their discretion.
