WHY KEYSTONE
A Complete Online Elementary Program
The Keystone School is excited to now offer K12’s K-5 courses aligned with Keystone’s flexible supported independent learning model. Our online program provides the flexibility that traditional Elementary programs do not and is perfect for students who don’t always fit the mold. Perhaps your child is just starting school, you are looking for a different full-time school environment, or you would like the opportunity to supplement his or her current school work. Or maybe he or she is an actor, musician or athlete who can’t always be in a brick-and-mortar classroom. For families seeking a complete elementary education, we provide a full-time, end-to-end online program. Students may also opt to take individual courses. The key difference between the Keystone Elementary program and the other upper level programs is that the Keystone Elementary requires daily support and guidance of a Learning Coach in the home with them. The Learning Coach can be a parent, grandparent or other responsible adult.
Whatever brings your child to Keystone, our sole focus is student success. Keystone students learn at a distance, but the support and school experience are hands-on. From the minute your child enrolls in the Keystone program, you and your child can access teachers, Student Success Advisors, counselors, administrative staff, and other students. We’re always just an email or phone call away.

Serving Students, Families and Schools
Keystone's elementary school program works directly with families or with schools, depending on which is best for a student’s education.
In the elementary school program, from day one, we assign your student a single "grade-level" teacher—a highly qualified professional with specific expertise in grades K-5. This online teacher oversees all facets of the instructional experience for every subject, while the designated Learning Coach works side-by-side with your child to facilitate his or her progress through the daily lessons.
Every online course provides suggested lesson plans for the week, which update automatically as your student completes them. You can vary these plans to accommodate your child’s pace or abilities. Our online scheduling and management tools make it easy to move things around.
For instance, some students do better when they can concentrate on a particular subject for longer hours per day, but fewer days per week. Other parents use their children’s favorite subject as a reward, to give them a periodic break from tougher subjects. Or you may take a day off or modify the schedule to accommodate your child’s outside pursuits.
On average, Learning Coaches can expect to spend 4 to 6 hours per day supporting your child's education, which most parents believe is "just right." But you’re never alone. Your teacher is just an email or phone call away and will host weekly Class Connect sessions in real-time to give students a chance to interact with other students. He or she keeps an eye on your child’s learning—monitoring progress, ensuring mastery, and meets with you at least once per quarter to help provide guidance and support.
