Core Elementary Homeschool Subjects
Whether you're new to homeschooling or you're a seasoned homeschooler, you know how important it is for your student to have a well-rounded, quality, accredited program. Keystone's elementary homeschool curriculum covers all your bases.
English
Keystone offers grade-appropriate language arts classes for all of our elementary students, helping to build literacy, comprehension, vocabulary, and a lifelong interest in reading. For our youngest elementary students in grades K–1, we also have a phonics component of our language arts classes. Phonics prepares students to become independent readers through teacher-led, systematic, multisensory instruction. Our language arts courses come with books and materials.
Math
Keystone's elementary school math classes start to build strong foundations for our students and cover topics from numbers and counting in first grade to operations and fractions in fifth grade. Our math courses come with books and materials and take students through the progression of math while preparing them for the fundamentals of algebra that they will be introduced to in middle school.
Science
The science classes that are a part of our elementary homeschool curriculum combine virtual lab investigations with interactive lessons that help grab and engage students' attention. Classes cover topics from what science is and how to study it to plants, animals, and ecosystems. Our science courses come with books and materials.
History & Social Sciences
The youngest Keystone students take social science courses that cover a range of topics, including geography, history, and key symbols related to the United States. As students progress through elementary school, they learn more about basic maps skills, economics, culture, and natural resources. Fifth graders spend more time learning specifically about United States history, geography, and government. Our history and social science courses are entirely digital.
Fine Arts
As part of our elementary homeschool curriculum, we offer fine arts classes to help our youngest learners express their creativity. Classes cover learning the basics of art, sculpture, structure, and form, and also help students understand how artists use lines, shapes, colors, patterns, textures, and more to build their works.
Physical Education & Health
We offer both health and physical education classes for our elementary school students to ensure they receive a well-rounded education. These classes help students start to understand how their bodies work and how to live active, healthy lives. Our physical education and health courses are entirely digital.
